Create a “Take What You Need” flyer and post it to a community board or telephone pole. Be sure to include a minimum of 10 tabs at the bottom.
Going to the mailbox might be the most exciting outing of the day and we want to make it more memorable. Dig out an old Halloween costume and sport it the next time you grab your mail. Bonus points if the mailman or neighbours are included in your photo (safely distanced).
School may be out for the year but that doesn't mean learning has finished. Share one of your skills with someone. This can be done remotely if necessary. Bonus points if you incorporate apples into your lesson plan.
Write a thank you letter to a teacher or mentor from your past that you never sufficiently thanked and then have it mailed. You may submit an image of the letter, or if you wish it to remain private, you may submit an image of you mailing it.
Create a shrine to your wellbeing. It must feature more than ten wellness tools and must be photographed by candlelight.
The SCJ Drifters
oin a new word that is at least 10 letters long (the more the better). The word must be lexically accurate – no-nonsense words or words that are one long sentence, all smashed together. You must be able to break your new word down into root words, give us it’s definition, as well as using it correctly in a sentence.
Spread some joy by hanging a colourful piece of art in your window, for people passing by to enjoy.
Create a ‘new’ uplifting headline by mixing 2 or more existing news headlines together. Bonus points for creativity, word play, and puns. Please share the original headlines in their entirety, along with your own creation.
Tech overload? Kick it old school and connect via snail mail. Send a letter, card, or care package to a friend who could use a pick me up.
Frontline workers are the backbone of our community. They have been showing up tirelessly, in spite of the risks they encounter in doing their jobs. They deserve a HUGE shout out! Give them the "thank you" they deserve, in the BIGGEST way you can manage.
The Kindness Rock Project is a viral trend where people paint rocks and hide them for others to find. Make a few rocks to "hide" around your neighbourhood. Submit one photo of all of your rocks before setting them out to be found.
